The Challenge
The Brand Union were asked to develop a name and brand identity for a new café opening in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. The identity had to provide a distinctive look-and-feel for the café, that was in keeping with an American / New England style.
The Solution
The chosen name, Giddy Goose, was derived from Mother Goose, a well-known figure in the literature of fairy tales and nursery rhymes. According to tourist reports, the original Mother Goose was a Bostonian, born in Boston, Massachusetts in the 1660s. The inclusion of the word 'giddy', adds a fun and light hearted element to the name, creating a sense of curiosity and a name that is not easily forgotten.
The identity itself is playful and quirky, while still retaining trust and quality through classic typography and a sophisticated colour palette. The Giddy Goose opened its doors in October 2009 with the new identity implemented both inside and out.
